Mary Martha (Hemmer) Curtin of Ft. Mitchell, KY passed away at age 97, on October 16, 2017. She is survived by her children and their families: John F. Curtin, III (Maryann); Nancy Stiefvater (Bill); Mark Curtin (Julia); Greg Curtin (Debbie); Mary Ann Iemmola (Antonio); Barbara Cox; Tom Curtin (Annette); her 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Ann (Hemmer) Shannon. She was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) F. Curtin, Jr., and daughter Carolyn Curtin Crone, her parents, John and Josephine Hemmer, her brothers and in-laws, Dr. John and Mary Kay Hemmer, Paul Hemmer, William Hemmer and brother-in-law Edward Shannon. Her brother, Dr. Robert Hemmer, passed away on October 18, 2017. Mary was a resident of Ft. Mitchell, KY and a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, the Sunnymede Women’s Club and the Covington Art Club. She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy. She enjoyed the arts, in particular the Cincinnati Ballet, traveling with her husband Jack to the many countries they visited, cruises, visits to The Greenbriar and winters in Singer Island, Florida. Mary and her husband Jack became excellent ballroom dancers and delighted those around them, never missing a chance to be on the dance floor at home and during their travels. Mary’s family was the most important focus in her life and she was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, October 24, at Blessed Sacrament Church, Ft. Mitchell, KY. Visitation will be in the church from 8:30 AM until 10:00 AM with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Entombment will be at St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum. Middendorf Funeral Home in Ft.
