Thomas E. Kennedy, age 88, of Ft. Mitchell, KY passed away on August 31, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was a graduate of St. X High School, Villa Madonna College and received his masters at Xavier University. A Veteran of the U.S. Army, he served as a mathematician at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland during the Korean War. Tom was the CFO at Comprehensive Care Center, which is now NorthKey. During that time, he was on the forefront of the technology revolution, founding a computer processing company in the late 1960’s. Later in life Tom served as Treasurer of the Notre Dame Academy Boosters and President of the Covington Catholic School Board. Tom served Mass twice a week at Mother of God Church for over 30 years and was an active member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society for 25 years. He was a founding member of the Fenian Chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and was a loyal member of the Boonies lunch group. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, John and Catherine Kennedy; siblings, Catherine Bain, Mary Kruetzkamp, Nell Meihaus, Owen, Bill, Bob, John and Jim Kennedy; grandchild, Frances Mary Kennedy. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Kennedy (Nee Hayes); children, Tom Kennedy (Chris), Sheila Farley (Sean), Mary Louis (Robert), John Kennedy (Kristin), Owen Kennedy (Mary) and Catherine Rider (Dennis); sister, Ruth Kennedy; and 18 grandchildren. A visitation will take place at Middendorf Funeral Home (3312 Madison Pk. Fort Wright, KY 41017) on Monday, September 4, 2017 from 5 PM to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day Tuesday, September 5 at Blessed Sacrament Church starting at 10 AM with interment immediately following at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Vincent DePaul Society, Blessed Sacrament Conference 2409 Dixie Hwy, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017 and/or St. Elizabeth Hospice 483 S Loop Rd, Edgewood, KY 41017.
