Thomas B. Ellis, Jr., age 76, of Ft. Mitchell , KY passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Always the professional salesman, Tom had dedicated his last years to provide his dream of a class athletic facility for Holmes High School to honor his father who served in all possible athletic positions at Holmes. Tom Sr. was the winningest coach in Holmes High School athletics history. He coached Basketball, Football and Baseball at the same time and the total wins gave him honors at the Kentucky Athletic Association for his achievements. TEAM Tom Ellis Athletics Memorial Foundation is about to dedicate its new facility this week and Tom was so proud. Any memorial contributions given should be made out to the TEAM Foundation c/o Holmes High School 2500 Madison Ave, Covington, KY 41014. Tom Jr. attended University of Cincinnati where he joined the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, it was the pride of his life, until recently he still had monthly meetings with his brothers. Tom graduated from Western Kentucky University and went to work for National Cash Register where he spent his working career rising to leading bank machine salesmen in the world. He retired in 1992 when NCR was bought by AT&T. Golf was not enough for Tom so he opened Duck Manor Promotions, A specialty advertising company in Latonia. He was a past member of Western Kentucky Alumni Board, past president to the Ryland Lakes Country Club, board member of the Ft. Mitchell Country Club and many civic and charitable organizations including the Samaritan Society of St. Elizabeth, the Boy Scouts of America and a Kentucky Colonel. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Liz Ellis (Nee Rieskin). A visitation will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 9 AM until the Funeral Services begins at 10 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church (Covington, KY).
