Elizabeth “Betty” Ruth Giglio of Ft. Mitchell passed away peacefully on July 1. She was preceded by her loving husband Vicente Giglio; son, Vic Giglio; and brother, Robert (Anna) Biedenbender. Betty is survived by her children: Emil (Terre) Giglio, Madalyn (Jim) Crawford, Michael (Joan) Giglio, Marianne (Rick) Dammert and Grace (Thomas) Neltner. She also leaves behind her brother, Gerry (Lois) Biedenbender, and numerous close family members including seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren and one great grandson. She will never be forgotten by anyone, including the kind staff at Carmel Manor, who provided excellent care. Betty was honored in 1979 as the Volunteer of the Year at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was an avid promoter of the Miraculous Medal Association. Betty loved family celebrations, especially Valentine’s Day, The 4th of July, Christmas Eve, and her brother’s family’s August Burgoo party. Having lived more than 85 years, Betty was unable to fulfill her wish to donate her skin to someone in need. Donations would also be appreciated to Carmel Manor Personal Care, 100 Carmel Manor Rd., Ft. Thomas, KY 41075 to help continue their purpose “of caring for people at the end of life with love, compassion and joy,” Middendorf Funeral Home (Ft. Wright, KY) is serving the family. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 5, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Ft. Mitchell from 6 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 7 p.m. Interment will be held the following day at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell at 10 a.m.
