Shirley Mary Ahlers

Shirley Mary Ahlers (nee Frohlich), age 82, of Fort Mitchell, KY passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2016.  She graduated in 1951 from Notre Dame Academy, married her sweetheart and together they raised seven children. Shirley will be remembered for her cooking, card playing and generosity. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Irene Frohlich; her loving husband of 57 years, William J. Ahlers, Jr.; son, Bob Ahlers (Ann).  Shirley is survived by her loving children, William Ahlers III, Kathy Nutini (Casey), Susan Finke (Mike), Dianne Fischer (Matthew), David Ahlers (Stephanie) and Steven Ahlers (Jami); grandchildren, Michael Finke (Kristin), Matthew Finke (Kerri), Leslie Salsbury (Brett), Bobby Ahlers, Kristen Kreinest (Greg), Stephanie Buechel (Luke), Eric Fischer, Kyle Fischer, Megan McElfresh (Foster), Amanda Nutini, Brandon Nutini (Lauren), Will Ahlers, Haydon Ahlers, Joseph Ahlers, Benjamin Ahlers and Kristen Honkomp; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Visitation will take place on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Ft. Mitchell, KY from 8 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 10 AM.  Middendorf Funeral Home Ft. Wright, KY is serving the family.  Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice 483 S Loop Rd, Edgewood, KY 41017.
