Joseph C. Overmann

Joseph C. OVERMANN 92 of Crestview Hills KY passed away Sunday November 27, 2016. Proceeded in death in 1989 by his loving wife Mary Ruth Brown Overmann in which they were married for 43 years. He then remarried and was proceeded in death by his wife Betty Tagleur Overmann. Loving father of Scott Overmann (Pam) from Ft. Wright, Bruce Overmann (Jeanine) from Cincinnati and Bonnie Lang (Matt) from Mason, Ohio. Loving grandfather of Amanda Overmann, Willie Overmann, Elliott Lang, Jacob Lang, Suzanna Lang and Marshall Lang. Born in West Covington, he grew up playing knothole baseball. In 1938 his team walked across the bridge and up to Crosley Field and saw the first of Johnny Vander Meers back to back no hitters.  He was a 1942 graduate of Holmes HS and 1948 graduate of University of Cincinnati College of Engineering. His 1st job was with the L&N Railroad in Louisville and then returned to NKy where he worked as a civil engineer for A.M. Kinney Engineers and Architects for 50+ years. One of his 1st projects as a civil engineer was with the development of the Greater Cincinnati Airport. He then became involved with the building and flying of remote control model airplanes and was a member of many different model airplane clubs. He also obtained his pilot’s license. He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of Summit Hills Country Club. For over 50 years his back yard was the 14th tee at Summit Hills where many people would stop by for a quick drink before finishing their round of golf. Visitation Saturday 10 – 11:30 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Edgewood KY. Mass will immediately follow. Burial St. Mary Cemetery.
