Roy R. Romes Jr., age 91, of Ft. Mitchell, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Patricia Romes (nee Jasper) for over 65 years. He was the loving father of Greg Romes of Ft. Mitchell, Bob (Dana) Romes of Villa Hills, Amy (Paul) Kindt of Ft. Mitchell, Christa (Randy) Ellison of Park Hills, Tim (Janelle) Romes of Park Hills, and Dan Romes of Union. He was the loving grandfather of Michael (Stephanie), Brian, Ellie and Grant Romes, Alli and Ben Kindt, Angie (Chris) Seitz, Drew (Nikol), Nick and Matt Ellison, Sam and Nate Romes; and the loving great-grandfather of Wyatt and Bailey Seitz. He was the brother of Barbara Hardin and the late Fred Romes. Roy proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. After the War he came home and opened Roy’s Meat in Covington with his father. He was a long time member of Saint Agnes Church and the Covington Catholic Boosters where he enjoyed working bingo and sporting events; a member of the Covington Catholic and Thomas More Hall of Fame, and received the St. Thomas More Medallion Award. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at Saint Agnes Church. No visitation. After Mass there will be a reception held in Murphy Hall. Private entombment at Saint Mary Cemetery.
