Jerry C. Collins of Ft. Mitchell, KY was a loving and devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Friend and Mentor. Jerry passed away on Friday, March 4th, 2016 at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with Liver Cancer. As a lifetime member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, he was a man of unwavering faith who served God and his church admirably. Jerry was the President of Parish Council and the School Board, as well as being involved in Christ Renews His Parish. He selflessly devoted his time and talents to the betterment of his community. Jerry served as President of the Blessed Sacrament Boosters, and was committed to the success of The Corn Roast, Pancake Breakfast, Men’s Stag and Golf Outing. As an alum of Covington Catholic High School, Jerry continually supported the CCH Boosters, where he led as President. He chaired the Alumni Golf Outing for many years and is a member of the CCH Sports Hall of Fame. Jerry’s passion for helping others was reflected as a Board Member at The Point, Arc of Northern Kentucky and Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home, where he co-founded the Swing into Spring Fundraiser. He also cooked and served meals at the Parish Kitchen for many years. Jerry was an avid baseball fan and loyal supporter of the Cincinnati Reds. He touched many youth lives while coaching knothole baseball, coached his son’s soccer team, and never missed his daughter’s dance recital or diving meets. Most recently, Jerry was an Assistant Coach at Cooper High School, where his son is Varsity Coach. While enjoying another pastime, golf, Jerry served as a board member and past President of Summit Hills Country Club. He was also a longtime member of the KEGS golf group. Jerry was Vice President of Bilz Insurance Agency, where he worked for 43 years, and honorably served his country while in the Army Reserves. Jerry is survived by his wife and best friend, Judy (nee Berger), who has been the love of his life for 46 years. He was loved and admired deeply by his sons, Jason (Danielle) and Jeremy (Joy); daughter, Jayne and 5 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Tom and Michael; sister, Kathy Boyle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Katie; brother, Eddie and grandson, JT. A visitation will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016 from 3:30 PM until Mass of Christian Burial begins at 7 PM. Interment will take place the following day, Wednesday, March 9th, 2016 at 11 AM at Mother of God Cemetery in Ft. Wright, KY.
