Joan Mildred Stratman

Joan Mildred Stratman, age 84, of Covington, KY passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016. She was a member of St. John Parish. Joan loved spending time with her family, she also enjoyed crocheting and crafts, fishing at their summer home on Kentucky Lake, collecting hummingbird figurines and was the winner of the 5th District women’s trap shooting competition. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rose Anneken; brothers, Norbert Anneken, Alvin Anneken and Joseph Anneken; sisters, Loraine Popp and Helen Hebbeler. Joan is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Howard Stratman; daughter, Debbie Burns (Lyle); son, Terry Stratman (Jennifer); siblings, Dolores Landwehr, Aurelia Fitzpatrick, Jeanette Brady, Audrey DeRosa, Walter Anneken and Raymond Anneken; grandchildren, Michelle O’Neil (Mike), Stephanie Thompson (Seth), Stacey Stratman and Michael Stratman; great-grandchildren, Nolan Thompson and Natalie Thompson. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Middendorf Funeral Home in Ft. Wright, KY. Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following morning on Friday, February, 5, 2016 at 10 AM at St. John Church 627 W Pike St, Covington, KY 41011. Interment will immediately follow at Mother of God Cemetery in Covington, KY. Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
