Eugene "Lefty" G. Goetz

Eugene “Lefty” Goetz, 89, of Fort Mitchell, passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2015. He was born in 1926, in Fort Mitchell, to the late William and Mary Goetz. He joined the United States Marine Corps and served during WWII. In 1950, he married Margie Scheper and became the loving father of Pam, Jerry, Greg, and Amy. He worked as a Superintendent for Acme Sash & Door Company for over 40 years. Lefty enjoyed spending his time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a fan of golfing, bowling, the Kentucky Wildcats, and the Cincinnati Reds. Lefty leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years Margie Goetz; his children Pam Collett, Jerry Goetz (Jan), Greg Goetz (Tina), and Amy Blanchet (Rick); his older brother Albert “Butch” Goetz; his grandchildren Julie Collett, Christina Bush (Brandon), John Collett (Jennifer), Jessica Cicchinelli (Chris), Jerry Goetz (Sarah), Elizabeth Goetz, Joseph Goetz, Maria Goetz-Alanis (Angel), Gregory Goetz, Michelle Goetz and Amanda Blanchet; his 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Lisa Marie Blanchet. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 8:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Saint Mary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to: Redwood, 71 Orphanage Road, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017.
