Doretta Elizabeth Hicks

Doretta Elizabeth Hicks, 86, of Independence, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015. Doretta was born in 1929, to the late Amelia and Harry Kohrs. She was the loving wife of the late Edward “Buddy” Hicks. Loving mother of Phillip Hicks (Terry), Sallie Heitsman (Chuck), Kathy Waters, Julie Stacks, Debbie Lynn (Gary), and Sandi Scott (Tom). Dear sister of Paul Kohrs, Rita Bedel, and Mary Watson. Loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Doretta served in the United States Navy as a Clerical and was a member of Saint Cecilia Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at MIDDENDORF FUNERAL HOME, 3312 MADISON PIKE, FT. WRIGHT, KY 41017. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Church, Independence. Burial to follow at Floral Hills Cemetery. A celebration of her life and lunch will be held at Pride Park 5614 Taylor Mill Rd, Taylor Mill, KY 41015 at 12:30 following her burial.
