Kenneth L. Torgerson

Kenneth Lynn Torgerson, 69, of Independence, Kentucky, formerly of Fairbanks, Alaska, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 3, 2015. Ken is survived by his loving wife, Mary Grace "Mari" Von Holle Torgerson; his children: Robert Linden Torgerson (Kirstin), Emily Grace Westbrook (Scott), Dianna Marie Elsbernd (Jeffrey), and William Lee Torgerson; and his granddaughter, Kaylee Anne. He will also be missed by his brother, Larry Torgerson (Theda); his mother-in-law, Emily Von Holle; sister-in-law, Tina Young (Mike); brothers-in-law, Jim Von Holle (Jayne) and Joe Von Holle (Laura) and his many cousins, nieces and nephews throughout the world. He is also survived by his adopted family, Ron and Yvette Gerdes and his "Grandness Kids" Jackson, Matilda, and Amelia. Ken will be remembered as a great man who loved his children, animals, square dancing, feeding his birds and going to the Cincinnati Zoo. He was a proud Eagle Scout, Boy Scout Leader and soccer coach. Ken was also known to enjoy good Bourbon from time to time. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until the Catholic Blessing at 6:00 p.m., at Middendorf Funeral Home, 3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, KY 41017.
