Charles Raymond Mayleben, 84, formerly of Edgewood, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood. Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Yvette LaBelle Mayleben, whom he loved and missed dearly. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Sauter; twin grandchildren, Matthew and Stephanie Fritz. Charles is survived by his daughter, Paula Fritz (Matt), as well as, his son, Dan Mayleben. He will be missed by his grandchildren: Peter Fritz (Rochelle), Jeff Fritz (Sally), and John Fritz, Michael Mayleben, Mark Mayleben, Sarah Eggers (Mitch) and his 5 great-grandchildren with a 6th on the way. Charles served his country, stateside, in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a former Federal Bank Examiner, and an executive with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati and the Ohio Deposit Guarantee Fund. After the Ohio Savings and Loan crisis of the 1980's, his meticulous record-keeping and testimony assisted in bringing wrongdoers to justice and helped depositors recover their funds. In addition to his love for his work in the financial sector, Charles enjoyed golf, playing cards and dining out. Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at St. Agnes Church, 1680 Dixie Highway, Ft. Wright, Kentucky 41011, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Middendorf Funeral Home, Ft. Wright is serving the family.
