Lawrence "Larry" F. Schoettker

March 27, 1920 — February 13, 2015

Lawrence F. "Larry" Schoettker, age 94, of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2015. Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Grone Schoettker, son, James A. Schoettker (Sylvia), and his granddaughter, Sara Schoettker. He is the loving father of Leonard Schoettker (Linda), Ann Gootee (James), and Andy Schoettker (Cynthia). Larry also leaves behind his sister, Thelma Schoettker. He will be greatly missed by his 9 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Larry served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. On June 2, 1944, while flying his A26, his plane went down over the English Channel; this was just 4 days before D-Day. Larry later retired from Schenley Industries and was a former Lakeside Park, councilman and mayor. He also attended Blessed Sacrament Church and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. He also volunteered for many years at Saint Vincent de Paul. Visitation will take place at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2409 Dixie Highway, Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky 41017, on Monday, February 16, 2015, beginning at 4:00 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00 p.m. Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. MIDDENDORF FUNERAL HOME, FT. WRIGHT, is assisting the family. Memorials are suggested to: St. Vincent de Paul, 2655 Crescent Springs Pike, Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky 41017.
