Joseph Sylvan Kordenbrock, 81, of Alexandria, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2015. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Drew Kordenbrock. He is survived by Maxine Kordenbrock, his loving wife of 61 years. He is also survived by his children: Connie Wolfe (Jim), Joseph Kordenbrock (Millie), Ken Kordenbrock (Leah), Terri Straub (Clifford), and Andy Kordenbrock (Jennifer). He will be greatly missed by his 18 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Joe served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a Kentucky Colonel, member of the Knights of Columbus, member of St. Mary Church, Alexandria, and a high school football referee for 29 years. Joe co-founded the Boone County Pewee Football League and started his own team, the Blackhawks. He will be remembered as a great man who gave generously of his time to others. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at MIDDENDORF FUNERAL HOME, 3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, Kentucky 41017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary Church, Alexandria at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015.
