Dennis Patrick Whitehead

Dennis Patrick Whitehead, 68, of Covington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2014. After graduating from Covington Latin School in 1962, he went on to receive his undergraduate from Villa Madonna College in 1966, and then later his masters from Xavier University in 1975. Dennis served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He began the Biology Department at Covington Latin High School and taught there for 43 years. Dennis was also an active parishioner at St. Benedict Church, Covington, where he was a past parish council member, server, and lector. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Margaret (Moloney) Whitehead, as well as, his brother, Larry Whitehead. Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Nancy Hegener Whitehead and their daughter, Amelia Quinn Whitehead. He also leaves behind his brothers and sisters: Peggy Pelstring, Michael Whitehead (Susan), Mary Ellen Enzweiler (Steve), Charles Whitehead (Jane), Timothy Whitehead (Sandy), and Veronica "Ronnie" Pfaehler. He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as, his Covington Latin School Family. Visitation will take place at Middendorf Funeral Home, 3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, Kentucky 41017, on Thursday, October 23, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of a brief military service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014, at St. Benedict Church, Covington.
