Richard A. "Dick" "Deacon" Von Handorf, 88, of Ft. Wright, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jean Ann (Glenn) Von Handorf. He was a wonderful father to Karen (late Rudolf) Donath, Glenn Von Handorf (Judy), Linda Fussinger (Doug), Paul Von Handorf (Annette), Dan Von Handorf, Mary Ann "Missy" (Peter) Jencks. He will be missed by his 16 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren and one due in October. He is also survived by his brother Edward (Mary Helen) Von Handorf and sister-in-law Dolores Von Handorf. Dick proudly served his country in the US Navy in WW II in the Pacific Theatre. Dick and Jean both survived the 1977 Beverly Hills Supper Club fire. He retired after 40 years with Kluener Packing Co. as plant manager. He volunteered for St. Vincent de Paul Society, Ft. Wright Board of Adjustments and many worthy causes. Dick brought the Pro Life White Cross display to N. KY in the nineties. Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Middendorf Funeral Home, 3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, KY 41017, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, July 14, 2014 at St. Agnes Church, Ft. Wright, at 11:30 a.m. Reception will immediately follow Mass and the burial will be at Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials take the form of donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 2409 Dixie Hwy, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017 or to the charity of donor's choice.
