Raymond Paul Thaman, 85, of Erlanger, Kentucky, died quietly at home on Sunday, June 29, 2014. He was born on May 28, 1929 in Erlanger, Kentucky, the third child of William and Helen Thaman. He was a devoted husband to Rita (Collopy) for more than 60 years. He was a proud father to Joe, Jane, Michael (Kathy), Mary Ann Gill, Phil (Mary Ann), Paul (Vicky), Theresa (Gary Foye), Leslie March (Jeff), Stephen (Paula), Raymond (Debbie), Chris, and Amy Fathman (Sean). He is also survived by his sister, Liz Hegge. He was Papaw to 32 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He will be missed by many friends and extended family members. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Hegge, brothers-in-law, Rob and Lee Hegge, his son-in-law, Bruce Gill. Ray was a veteran of the United States Army, member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 212, co-founder of Glenwood Electric, Inc., an avid golfer and University of Kentucky fan. He is best loved and will be most remembered for his wry sense of humor, generous spirit and undying love and commitment to his wife and family. Mitchell, Kentucky 41017. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at St. Pius X Church from 3:00 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright.
