Stephen Elliot Payne

Stephen Elliot Payne, 50, of Florence, KY passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. Stephen enjoyed life and loved his family. He enjoyed playing and teaching soccer, and was involved with the Ryle High School Marching Band Boosters Club. He is survived by his former wife and dear friend Rose Mathis, children; Hannah Payne, Reed Payne, Michael Saunders, and Alison Saunders, grandchild Emma Capito, father Nicholas Payne (Cynthia), mother Janet Iles (JT), sister Karen Ronningen (Jeff), nieces and nephews; Madeline Ronningen, and Alexandra Ronningen. He also leaves behind many other beloved members of the Mathis family, who have always treated him as one of their own. Stephen was laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, KY. The family has requested for memorial contributions to be made to Ryle High School Band Boosters at P.O. Box 995, Union, KY 41091, or to the American Cancer Society at 297 Buttermilk Pike, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017, or to the Charity of Donor's Choice.
