Elizabeth "Betty" A. Read, (nee' Riche'), 92, of Covington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. She is preceded in death by her husband George Read. Betty is survived by her children; Sharon Delany of Florence, KY, Colleen Read of Florence, KY, Beth Mattia of Erlanger, KY, Gar Read of Crescent Springs, KY, Kelly (Pamela) Read of Edgewood, KY, and Kevin (Laura) Agapay-Read of Chicago, IL. She also leaves behind her brother, Stew Riche'. She was the loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 12. Betty was active at the Covington Community Center, Be Concerned, and St. Agnes Church. In 2007 she received the "Notre Dame Women Making a Difference Award." Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at St. Agnes Church, 1680 Dixie Highway, Ft. Wright, KY 41011. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of donations to: Notre Dame Academy, 1699 Hilton Drive, Park Hills, KY 41011.
