Richard L. Eubanks, 91, of Ft. Mitchell, passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Richard was born in Crescent Springs, Kentucky on September 22, 1922. He was very proud of his career as a pilot of a B-26 bomber during World War II. During his service, he flew over 30 missions, including the Battle of the Bulge. Upon completion of his service, Richard attended the University of Kentucky. After graduating from UK he became an agent for 18 months with the FBI in Washington, D.C. He left the FBI to join Procter and Gamble Co., of Cincinnati in an administrative capacity, serving until 1953 when he joined Textron, Inc., Providence, Rhode Island. He progressed to President of one of Textron's major companies, Randall Company, Cincinnati, Ohio. Soon he was given the additional responsibilities of Chief Executive Officer of: Zenite Metals, Blytheville, Arkansas; Wagner Manufacturing Co., Sidney, Ohio; Durham Co., Indianapolis, Indiana; White Cloud Co., Michigan; Griswold Co., Erie, Pennsylvania; Peat Manufacturing, Los Angeles, California; and Hall Mack Co., of Los Angeles, California. In 1967, Richard Joined Gibson Greetings, Cincinnati, Ohio, as President. During 1970, he was elected Chief Executive Officer of: Gibson Greetings, Success Co., New York, New York; Pakay, Taftville, Connecticut; Cleo Wrap, Memphis, Tennessee; Gift Wrap, Houston, Texas; Buzza Cordozo, Anaheim, California; Brent Press, London, England, and Kaye, London, England. After retirement in 1978, he founded Eucon, Inc. and Rema Industries, holding companies with major manufacturing and distribution holding in the material handling and textile machinery fields. Together with Egyptian and Saudi Arabian partners, he founded the American Egyptian Company, an import-export firm, with headquarters in Heliopolis, Egypt and offices in Alexandria, Egypt. Richard purchased T.K.F., Inc. in 1981. In 1982 he was instrumental in a startup company, Federal Equipment Company. These two companies grew over the years and finally merged in 2011. Richard remained an active owner in the company until the time of his death. He served as Chairman of the Board of the Cincinnati Better Business Bureau; a trustee of National Jewish Hospital, Denver, Colorado; on the board of trustees of Union College; a trustee of the Urban League; a member of the Cincinnati Planning Council, and a member of the planning council of the AMA. Richard holds an honorary degree from Union College and was "Man of the Year" for National Jewish Hospital. He was also named to the "Hall of Distinguished Alumni" of the University of Kentucky. Of all Richard's accomplishments, he was most proud of his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia "Ginny" Eubanks. He is survived by his loving wife, Rita Eubanks. Richard also is survived by his sister, Rita Lubrecht. He will be missed by his children: Richard B. (Rose) Eubanks, Deborah Eubanks Smith, Ronald L. (Gaye) Eubanks, Nita E. (Patrick) Brennan, and Lisa (Mike) Schuler. He was the proud grandfather of 13 and soon to be great-grandfather of 11. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Middendorf Funeral Home, 3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, Kentucky 41017. A military service will take place at 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of donations to: The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
