Sister Mary Loretto Wilkins, 90, of Park Hills, was born on May 10, 1923, in Covington, Kentucky. She was the youngest of the seven children of Louis and Anna Roach Wilkins. She attended St. John Elementary School and Notre Dame Academy both taught by the Sisters of Notre Dame. She joined the Sisters and made her profession of vows on August 12, 1943. Last summer she celebrated her jubilee of 70 years in the Congregation. Sister Mary Loretto taught in several elementary schools, and also taught languages and biology at Notre Dame Academy and Bishop Brossart High School. Sister is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers: John, Joseph, Edwin, Elmer, and Clarence, and her sister, Helen Riese. Sister leaves behind her sister-in-law, Barbara Wilkins, three nieces: Sr. Judith Reise, CDP, Kathleen Gamble, Paula Hines; and three nephews: Fred Reise, James Reise, and Dick Wilkins, along with several great nieces and great nephews. Visitation begins at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Provincial House, St. Joseph Heights, followed by a Wake Service at 5:00 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00 p.m. in the convent chapel. Interment will be Saturday morning, March 8, in the convent cemetery at 9:30 a.m. Memorials are requested to the Sisters of Notre Dame, 1601 Dixie Highway, Park Hills, KY 41011.
