Upon completion of his service, Dr. Schworer worked nights in the Emergency Room at Good Samaritan Hospital, while also taking advantage of the GI Bill to focus on pulmonary disease and allergies. In 1974 he re-entered private practice. During Dr. Schworer's career, he served as Chief of Staff of Physicians and Chairman of the Pulmonology and Pharmacy Departments at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was also a member of the American College of Internal Medicine. Dr. Schworer will be remembered for his great love of family, his profession, Education and Cadillacs.
