Mary Kay Hemmer, 90, of Cincinnati, formerly of Louisville, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at Mercy Hospital Anderson in Cincinnati. Mary Kay was a native of Fort Mitchell, Ky. and lived in Louisville since 1954 before moving to Cincinnati in 1996. As the matriarch of her family, Mary Kay believed her greatest legacy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a beautiful lady with a youthful spirit and gracious heart that was apparent to everyone she met. She so loved and treasured her family and friends as the ultimate joys of her life. She is survived by two sons, J. Thomas Hemmer and Dr. Richard Hemmer (Suzanne) both of Cincinnati; four daughters, Sally Renda (Bill) of Louisville, Julie Borchers (John) of Cincinnati, Mary Jo Kellagher (Tom) of Houston, and Carolyn Matula of Louisville; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Dr. John Andrew "Jack" Hemmer of Cincinnati, formerly of Louisville, brother George Thomas and mother and father Catherine and Harry Regan. The family gives special thanks to the staff at Mercy Hospital Anderson for the compassionate care they provided. Mary Kay was devoted to family and friends afflicted with Alzheimer's and a support to their caregivers. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 4pm until 6pm at Middendorf Funeral Home in Fort Wright, KY. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, December 23, 2013 at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Mitchell, KY. Burial will be held at St. Mary Cemetery.
