Earl L. Knasel

Earl L. Knasel, age 90, of Edgewood, passed away on November 3, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Betty Jane Knasel for over 67 years. The loving Father to Judy Eggemeier (Tom) of Cape Cod, MA, Sue Brandner (Phil) of Fort Wright, David Knasel of Covington, Larry Knasel (Jill) of Fort Wright, Tim Knasel (Susan) of Edgewood, Kevin Knasel (Susan) of St. Louis Missouri. Loving brother to Kathy Graven of Park Hills. He was the loving grandfather to 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Earl is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was a friend to many. He is preceded in death by his two sons Donald Knasel and Dennis Knasel (Linda); and siblings Rosemond Moeves and Hubert Knasel. Earl was a graduate of Saint James High School in 1939. He then bravely served our country in the United States Army and fought in World War II and fought in the D-Day invasion. After his time in the service he opened Knasel Market in Covington, where he owned and operated the store for over 55 years. He was a member of St. Pius X Church since its inception. Visitation Thursday from 10 - 11 am at St. Pius X Church. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 am. Burial at St. Mary Cemetery.
