Robert "Bob" Wenning died peacefully on October 4, 2013. Bob was born in Covington, Kentucky on September 4, 1916, the eldest of 5 children. He graduated from St. Xavier High School. Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He attended Officer Candidate School and advanced to the rank of Captain, 7th Armored Division. Three weeks after his return, Bob married his fiancée, Marguerite Ann "Peggy" Ryan on November 3, 1945. They were happily married for over 66 years, until Peggy passed away in 2012. Bob retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1974; in retirement he did volunteer work for BeConcerned and enjoyed photography, the Cincinnati Reds, and travel. He is survived by his brother, Ralph Wenning, his children, Thomas Wenning, Sheila Rabel and Elizabeth Boehm, seven grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation on Friday, October 11 from 10-11 am at St. Joseph Church, 2470 Lorraine Court, Crescent Springs, KY. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 am. Burial at St. Mary Cemetery. Middendorf Funeral Home, Ft. Wright, is handling the arrangements.
