Karen S. Swofford

Karen Sue Swofford (Nee Kuchle), passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. Karen graduated from Morton High School in Morton, IL in 1979. She graduated from Illinois State University in 1983. She moved to Covington in 1995, and worked as Assistant Kitchen Manager at Holy Family School until 2005. She then worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas in the Nutrition Department until she had to resign due to her battle with Cancer. She is preceded in death by her late father Ralph Kuchle. Karen is survived by her Husband James Swofford Jr of Covington, KY, daughter Kihei Murphy (James Sr.) of Covington, KY, grandson James Murphy Jr. of Covington, KY, step son James Swofford III of Peoria, IL, and step grandchildren Anthony and Katlyn Swofford of Peoria, IL, her mother Nancy Kuchle of Park Hills, KY, three brothers; Kurt Kuchle of Kewanee, IL, Kenneth Kuchle of Denver, CO, Kevin Kuchle of Denver, CO, and her sister Kathy Clark of Groveland, IL. A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 10:30am until 11:30am at St. Agnes Church in Fort Wright, KY. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place following the Visitation at 11:30am at St. Agnes. She will be buried near her father Ralph at St. John Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.
