Jozef Bencurik, age 75, passed away on September 5, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Alojzia Bencurik. The loving father to Bill Bencurik (Kathy) and Ryan Bencurick (Nicole). Dear brother to Julia Petras and Maria Nemecek. Loving grandfather to two grandchildren. Joe was a conductor of a symphony in Slovakia prior to coming to this country over 40 years ago. He took various jobs to help support his family, including carpentry, teaching music, and becoming an electrician. He finally settled on becoming a supervising communications specialist at AT&T up until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing and travelling to see his son Ryan play hockey, and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved nature, and took to bird watching at his home in Dry Ridge. In his free time he was always building or improving something, and often took on projects to help his son Bill. In homage to his family business in the old country, he enjoyed making wine from grapes grown at his home. He was a modest man who always put the interests of his family before his own. Throughout his life he was a survivor, overcoming many obstacles. However, he could not overcome the final blight of cancer after fighting it for over a year. He will be sorely missed by his wife, two sons, two sisters, and grandchildren.Visitation Friday from 5-8 pm at MIDDENDORF FUNERAL HOME, FT. WRIGHT.
