Joseph "Dan" Greenwell, 75, passed away March 5, 2013 at his residence in Florence, Kentucky. Dan is survived by his life partner, Lynn Haney and her son Tommy. As well as Dan's three sons David (Jennifer) Greenwell, Tom (Cheryl Jackson) Greenwell, and Matt (Anita) Greenwell. He was the loving grandfather of six. Dan was the oldest of 14 children of the late Joseph and Margaret Greenwell. His brother Freddie and sisters Bea and Jane preceded him in death. He leaves behind his 10 brothers and sisters: Frank, Tom, Lois, Jim, Mary, Pat, Bill, Laura, Sarah, and George. Dan was a graduate of the University of Louisville Speed School with a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Dan retired from R.A. Jones & Company after 27 years of service. Dan will be remembered as partner, father, grandfather, brother and uncle by his family and as a tinkerer, dreamer, inventor, pioneer, manager, leader, innovator, engineer, teacher, counselor, mentor, advisor, colleague, peer, associate and friend to everyone who knew him. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00am to 2:00pm at MIDDENDORF FUNERAL HOME, FT. WRIGHT. Services will follow at 2:00pm.
