Mary Margaret (Leist) Hackman, 95, of Edgewood passed away on Monday February 18, 2013, just days before her 96th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband Victor R. Hackman. Mary is survived by her daughter, Susan Sturgeon of Edgewood, KY; three sons, Michael Hackman (Cindy) of Cary, IL, Robert Hackman (Linda) of Cincinnati, OH, and Joseph Hackman (Julie) of Villa Hills, KY; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and eight nieces and nephews. While her children were growing up, Mary worked as a secretary for the Children's Home of NKY, and at Covington Catholic High School, and was active in their school parents' organizations. She was a Girl Scout leader and neighborhood chairman; and, a Cub Scout den mother. After retiring from Trinity Episcopal Church where she also served as a secretary, Mary was active with Extension Homemakers, St. Charles Auxiliary, Hilltoppers, and St. Agnes Church. She led a craft class for residents of St. Charles for many years. Mary also served as a sponsor in the St. Agnes RCIA program. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 10:30am until 11:30am, with mass to follow at 11:30am at St. Agnes Church in Fort Wright, KY.
