Joseph H. Tierney

Joseph Henry Tierney entered eternal life on Thursday, January 24, 2013, his 90th birthday. Joe will be remembered for his constant smile, bright blue eyes and gentle manner. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. During WW II Joe served in the So. Pacific. He retired from the L&N Railroad after forty years. Throughout his life Joe was involved in faith and community activities at St. Augustine, St. Benedict and Blessed Sacrament Parishes. Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Elizabeth (Betty) Rymarquis Tierney; four children: Tim, Peggy, Joe and Betsy; and a son-in-law, Fred Bryant. Joseph is survived by his children: Diana (Deacon Bob)Joice, Jo Ann Bryant, Patrick, Maureen, Mary Kathleen (Matt) Connolly, Bob (Meg), Michael (Tammy), Amy Allen; fourteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Public visitation Thursday, January 31, 3:30-5:30 PM at Middendorf Funeral Home, Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, KY. Mass will follow, 6 PM at Blessed Sacrament Church, in Ft. Mitchell. Donations in lieu of flowers to St. Augustine School or Blessed Sacrament School Education Funds.
