Keith Richard Steele of Edgewood, Kentucky passed away on December 4, 2012 from a brain aneurysm in Bloomington, Minnesota. Keith was born on October 24, 1953 in Oceanside, New York. As a child, Keith lived in New York, Okinawa and Italy. During his five years in Italy he and his family traveled extensively throughout Europe. Keith had a lifelong love of aviation and had his first flying lesson in 1972 at the age of 19. He flew for Desert Pacific and Wings West, commuter airlines in California. He moved to Kentucky in 1985 where he was a pilot for DHL/ASTAR Airlines for 27 years. He was director of training for the Boeing 727 and captain on the A320 (Airbus) while with DHL/ASTAR. In June, 2012 he began a second career driving for Swift Transportation. Keith was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Erlanger, Kentucky. He was an avid photographer and a member of the Tri-State Photographic Society. He was a multiple organ donor so his life will live on in others. Keith is survived by his wife, Suzanne Steele and children Victoria, Alexander, Nicholas, and Stacie Miller (Ryan) and grandson, Ryder Miller. He also leaves behind his mother, Monique Steele, Pasadena, his brother, Eric Steele (Debbie) of Fontana, California and sister, Mareque Ireland (Michael) of Thousand Oaks, California. He was preceded in death by his father, L. Richard Steele. Visitation is Friday December 14th at Middendorf Funeral Home, Ft. Wright, Kentucky from 4 - 7 pm. Services will be held at Middendorf Funeral Home on Saturday at 10 am. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky.
