Paul served in the Navy in WWII and was stationed on the USS Meade, a destroyer in the Pacific during WWII. He is a retired mail carrier from the U.S Postal Service, and was active in his parish of St. Benedict, Covington and later at St. Agnes Church. Paul served the St. Vincent DePaul Society for many decades. He also sang in the choirs and belonged to the Holy Name Society. Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lois Hoppenjans Talbert, and ten of his eleven siblings. He is survived by his daughters Sue Talbert of Taylor Mill, KY; Kathy Thamann (Jay) of Ft. Mitchell, KY; Beth Spenlau (Don) of Ft. Mitchell, KY; his son Jeff Talbert (Carole) of Taylor Mill, KY; grandchildren Jake, Paul, Nate, and Ben Thamann; Travis and Wil Talbert; and Hilary Spenlau; his sister Rosmary Seimer; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A visitation will take place on Tuesday September 4, 2012 from 9:30am until 11:30am at St. Agnes Church in Ft. Wright, KY. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30am at St. Agnes with burial to follow at Mother of God Cemetery in Ft. Wright, KY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Saint Vincent DePaul Society, St. Agnes Chapter at 1680 Dixie Highway, Fort Wright, KY 41011.
