Rita A. Middendorf

Loving wife for 37 years of Richard J. "Dick" Middendorf, formerly of Monfort Heights, Ohio, died on Tuesday, August 28,2012 at Madonna Manor in Villa Hills, KY at age 78. Mother of Rick Middendorf (Amy) and Tammy Koehne (Joe) and grandmother of Tre, Emily and Jade Middendorf, and Jim, Madalyn, David, Andrea and Carol Koehne. Her parents Stephen and Thelma Seiler Maloney, and sisters, Peggy and Eileen Maloney preceded her in death. She is survived by her sister Mary "Jeanne" Maloney Raispis and nieces Marlene Hagan, Sue Hawkins and Anne Oleski. Many nieces and nephews. Rita was a Benedictine Sister for 17 years, having taught at St. Theresa School in Southgate, KY, at the Scholasticate of St. Walburg Monastery, taught at Villa Madonna High School and was principal of Holy Cross High School in Latonia, KY. She later taught at Badin and Seton High Schools and was college counselor at Seton High School. Still later she did tax returns for H & R Block Company for 18 tax Seasons. Gifted with a beautiful soprano voice she sang at May Festival and often asked to sing the "Ave Maria" at funerals at St. Ignatius Church in Monfort Heights where the family were members for 36 years. Rita was a member of Benedictine Oblates at St. Walburg. Visitation Saturday, September 1, from 10am - 11 am at St Agnes Church 1680 Dixie Highway, Ft. Wright, KY 41011, Exit 189 off 75 South.
