Betty Jean Adamson, age 92, left this world for a new journey on May 26, 2012. Betty was a creative soul, a seeker of knowledge and a world traveler. She was born in Chicago Illinois, graduated from DePauw University and graduate study at Northwestern in Medical Technology. Japanese flowering was a passion throughout her life. She traveled to more than 30 countries exploring Europe, Asian, Africa, the Galapagos Islands and parts of Central American, Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica and many natural wonders of the United States. She volunteered her time in the service of others through her church and St Elizabeth's Hospital, the Covington Old Ladies Home, the Fairhaven Rescue Mission, the Taft Museum and the Cincinnati Nature Center. An avid sports fan she followed baseball, basketball and football. She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi and the Cincinnati Women's Club where she sang in the choir. She was also the Lakeside Church historian for many years. She had a great love of nature and what it teaches us. She also will be remembered as a snappy dresser and one to speak her truth even when it was unpopular. She was a feisty woman that never stopped learning and was an inspiration to many. Wife to the late James Howard Adamson. Mother to James Clark Adamson (Tonia) of Lombard, Illinois, John Clinton Adamson of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Betty Anne Cooper (Ken) of Kingston, Washington. Grandmother to James C. Adamson (Linda), Cynthia H. Adamson-Kotlicky (Ron), and Rodger C. Adamson; Great Grandmother to Emily Adamson, Grant Adamson, Tristin Kotlicky, and Quentin Kotlicky. She is preceded in death by her sister Ruth Broch. A celebration of her life will be held on June 23rd at 11:00 at Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Lakeside Park, Ky.
