Thomas Gaines Whaley

Thomas Gaines Whaley, age 81, died November 12, 2011, in Lehigh Acres, Florida. Thomas was born on May 4, 1930 in Covington, KY. He was a US Army Korean War Veteran. Thomas retired from the United Food and commercial workers union in 1986. Thomas served as a member and a volunteer for 22 years on the Southwest Florida fair board and currently was President. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Eileen Whaley. 5 Children: Kim, Karen, Mark, Jamie and Paul. A brother Dan Whaley (Tennessee) and Sisters Caroline Catton(Union) and Kay Jackson(Union). 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy in 2003, a brother Paul and sister Shirley Duncan. Visitation Saturday from 9-11 am at MIDDENDORF FUNERAL HOME FT WRIGHT. Service will follow at 11:00 am.
