Betty Fragge, loving wife and mother, passed away at the age of 91 on October 29, 2024. A longtime resident of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, she was the only child of Lorraine Robke and Richard Oettinger, who preceded her in death, as did her husband, Dr. Ronald Fragge, and son, Marc Fragge.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Fragge) Freeman, and son-in-law, Joseph Freeman. She is also survived by her nieces, nephew, numerous cousins and other extended family members and friends.
Betty married the love of her life, Ron Fragge, in the summer of 1956. They were together for 64 years until Ron’s passing in 2020.
In the 1950s, Betty attended Central Academy of Commercial Art as well as Villa Madonna College (Thomas More University). She worked at the Cincinnati Enquirer as an advertising clerk and then as a commercial artist for General Electric in the Jet Engine Department of Flight Propulsion Division. Her duties ranged from graphs, charts, signs and posters to color illustrations of engine applications and engine drawings with air brush. In the 1960s and beyond, she raised two children. She continued to utilize her artistic skills when working on volunteer projects like the Bengal Roar at Thomas More College/University. She was the foundation of Ron’s success as a physician. Betty meticulously managed all things related to the home so Ron could dedicate himself to his medical practice and spend as much time as possible serving his patients. Later in life, she worked off and on at Ron’s office assisting with the insurance claims.
