Daniel Dennis Schwartz

Daniel Schwartz, affectionately called “Rat”, 62, of Fort Wright, Kentucky, passed away on April 19, 2022 after a nearly 3 year battle with bladder cancer.  He was born on May 2, 1959 in Covington, Kentucky to the late Arthur and Julianna Schwartz.  Dan was Covington Catholic High School’s Class of 1977 Valedictorian.  Those brains led him to an engineering career which included The Kentucky Department of Transportation, Lucent Technologies, Ohio Edison/First Energy, URS Corporation, Duke Energy and Zempleo.  As any of his family, friends and neighbors can attest, he thoroughly enjoyed Christmas decorating, transforming his house into a holiday light display that would make even the Griswalds jealous.  He is survived by his siblings, Steve Schwartz, Mark Schwartz, Donna (Bernie) Wessels, and Kevin (Chris) Schwartz; nephews Matt (Danielle) Schwartz, Aaron (Jenna) Schwartz, Alex Schwartz, Kent Wessels and Andrew Schwartz, niece Megan Schwartz; great nephews Liam and Julian, and great niece Olivia.  Honoring his request, services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to:   Sisters of Notre Dame, 1601 Dixie Highway, Park Hills, KY   41011; or Freestore Foodbank, 1141 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, OH  45202.
