David Joseph VonHandorf, age 75, of Crestview Hills, KY passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2023. Dave provided care and comfort to countless children and families during his 39 years in Respiratory Care at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and was a lifetime member of Fort Mitchell Fire Department, where he served as a volunteer firefighter and engineer for 42 years. He bravely served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, serving as a medic at Valley Forge General Hospital in Phoenixville, PA. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sandy VonHandorf (nee Flynn); his extremely lucky daughters, Amy VonHandorf (Joel Weaver) and Valerie Marple (Zach); siblings, Margie Cross (Pat) and Tom VonHandorf (Mary), sister-in-law Ann VonHandorf; and his grandchildren who were his absolute pride and joy, Trevor Logue, Penny Marple, Jovi Marple and Hillary Weaver. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry VonHandorf Jr., mother, Vera VonHandorf; and brother, Jim VonHandorf (Ann). He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Blessed Sacrament Church from 1:00 PM until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 2:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
