Donald C. Von Hoene

Don Von Hoene, 87, died peacefully with family by his side on December 5, 2024. Don was born in Covington, KY on December 2, 1937 to the late Opal (Thornton) and Cyril Von Hoene. He is survived by his loving son Ted (Kelly), grandchildren Jack and Kate, brothers Rick (Sue) and Greg (Vicki) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 55 years Kathy (Kohlbrand) Von Hoene and sister Joan Von Hoene. Don graduated from Covington Catholic High School, Villa Madonna College, and received his PhD in Physics from the University of Cincinnati. He was a Principal Scientist for the Xerox Corporation in Rochester, NY for his entire 30+ year career. Don and Kathy resided in Fairport, NY for 40 years, returning to Northern Kentucky in 2011. They also spent 15 years snowbirding to Bradenton, FL. Don was an avid tennis player, a huge sports enthusiast and loved playing the piano. A visitation will be held at Mother of God Church, Covington, KY on Friday, December 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with interment to immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, KY.
