March 8, 1950 — August 14, 2021

Gary J. Epplen, age 71, of Covington, KY passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021.  Gary completed his undergrad schooling at University of Kentucky and received his Masters from Northern Kentucky University.  He began a career in education and taught for over 33 years, he spent 6 years at Notre Dame Academy and 27 at Scott High School.  Gary is survived by his son, Jonathan K. Epplen; adopted daughter, Becky Strong; daughter, Tara M. Epplen; brothers, David Epplen and Joseph Epplen; 1 grandson; 2 great-grandchildren; beloved friends, Paul Bridges and Chris Summe.  Visitation will take place Friday, September 3, 2021 at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption (Covington, KY) from 9:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial begins at 10:30 AM.  Interment will immediately follow at St. John Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Arbor Day Foundation at https://shop.arborday.org/campaign/reforestation-donation/give .
