Janet Rae Blank Diehl passed away on January 15, 2024, at the age of 85 in Port Charlotte, FL. She was born on February 2, 1938, in Covington, KY, to Irene and Ray Klug.
Janet met her husband John “Jack” Blank in Covington Ky. They enjoyed a long loving marriage and raised five wonderful children together until Jack’s passing in 2008.
Janet met and fell in love with her second husband Carl Diehl in Lake Suzy, FL. where the enjoyed ten wonderful years together.
Janet was a loving and caring mother and wife. She had a fun-loving personality. She was known by many of her friends, especially her Perry Park friends as “squirrel”, largely because of her effervescent personality and high energy. She was an avid golfer and was known by many for her exceptional skills on the golf course. Janet worked at Hertz, Thomas More College and as an auditor at the IRS in Covington.
Janet was a graduate of Norte Dame Academy in Kentucky.
Janet will be deeply missed by her second husband Carl Diehl, children, Lisa Gergen (Mike), Lynn Kallmeyer (Greg), John Blank (Cindie), David Blank (Roxanna), and Manuel Rodiz (SIL). She was also a cherished grandmother to Chad Kallmeyer (Tess), Kyle Sironen (Sarah), Sean Kallmeyer (Daniel), Chris Kallmeyer, Gabriella Schultz (Justin), Savannah Harover (Nick), Nicole Pangallo (Vinnie), Caroline Blank, Georgette Blank, Jackson Blank, Alexandra Rodiz, Allison Rodiz, and Alicia Rodiz. Janet was a proud great-grandmother to Stella and Scarlett Sironen, and Lucy and Josie Pangallo. Siblings Nancy Deglow, Jerry Klug (Pat), Tim Klug (Barb), Ken Klug (Jane), Karen Riegler (Boone), and Cindy Heineke (Barry).
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Irene and Ray Klug, her husband Jack Blank (2008), her daughter Pamela Rodiz (2022), and her siblings Ron Klug and Steve Klug.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Middendorf Funeral Home in Fort Wright, KY. The family will gather to celebrate Janet's life and pay their final respects at St John’s Church, Covington KY.
Janet Rae Blank Diehl will be remembered for her love, energy, and zest for life. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.
