Joan Emily Boehmer

Joan Boehmer, 94, passed from this life on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Carmel Manor in Fort Thomas.  She was born in Covington on April 27, 1929 to the late Elmer and Laura Schmeing.  In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years of marriage, Henry Boehmer, sisters: Mary Schmeing, Laura Jean Bischoff, Martha Schmeing and her son in law, Tom Adams.  Joan is survived by her children: Christine Boehmer Hils (Steve), Paula Adams, Lynne Stewart (Rob), Mike Boehmer (Christine), and Tom Boehmer (Marie-Claude), fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Those that knew her, saw her as a patient, strong, generous, loving and caring individual.  Joan was a devout Catholic, a longtime parishioner of St. Pius X Church, a volunteer with the Parish Kitchen, Meals on Wheels and a member of the Women’s Garden Club of Crestview Hills.  She enjoyed her family, friends, the Reds, the arts, bowling, golfing and traveling.  Our family extends deep gratitude to all who have participated in the loving care of Joan in her last few years of life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to: Notre Dame Academy 1699 Hilton Drive, Park Hills, KY 41011, Carmel Manor 100 Carmel Manor Rd, Fort Thomas, KY 41075 and/or Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth, 483 S. Loop Road, Edgewood, KY 41017.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at St. Pius X Church (348 Dudley Road, Edgewood, KY 41017) from 4:30 PM until 6:00 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial begins at 6:00 PM.  Reception immediately following the Mass.  Interment will take place privately for the family at St. Mary Cemetery.  Middendorf Funeral Home (Ft. Wright) is handling the arrangements.
