Margaret “Marge” Wilshire (nee Moore) 88, passed away November 20,2022 in Crestview Hills, KY. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Moore Sr. and Margaret Ann Moore; her sister and brother-in-law Tiny and Woody Davis; brother and sister- in- law Dick and Jane Moore and her beloved husband Billy Ray Wilshire.
Born and raised in Texas during the Great Depression and The Great Dust Bowl, she was the epitome of a strong Texas lady. She started working at the age of 17 in Amarillo Texas. 5 years later she met Billy Ray who had just returned home from the Navy. They wed in 1955.
Margaret was bank teller in Friona Texas until her retirement. Even in her later years she still took pride in managing her own finances and bookkeeping. During her time in Friona she loved to support school sports and events and Girl Scout adventures.
During retirement she fell in love with sewing and crafting and often attended craft shows to sell her crafts and to meet and talk with people. She was also willing to teach anyone a new craft and would spend hours in her craft room.
Margaret move to Kentucky in 2014 and quickly fell in love with the Blue Grass state. She was amazed at the “mountains” in Northern Kentucky (which being a Texan she didn’t have much perspective on mountains vs. hills). She loved to hear the history of the area and about bourbon and horses. In June of 2014 she went on her first trip to Nashville Tennessee. She spent hours in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. She shared stories of hearing many of these artists songs live (including Bob Wills- The King of Western Swing”. The highlight of her trip was to hear live music on Broadway at Tootsies Orchid Lounge.
Margaret had a sharp mind, a witty sense of humor and a deep caring for all of those she met. She had many people who adored her and she cared about the goings on in all of their lives. She would always ask about people who were on her mind.
She is survived by her son Paul Wilshire (Debbie) and her daughter Julie (Ken), and Grandson Jason (Audra).
After her journey back to her home state of Texas, Burial will be at Llano Cemetery on December 1 , 2022 at 2:00 CST.
