Mark A. Hoffman peacefully passed to the next life on Friday, January 26, 2024. He was blessed that Susan, Alicia, Nick, Tricia, and so many loved ones were able to be by his side as he left this life.
Mark married Susan, his high school sweetheart, and the love of his life, in 1976. They had three beloved children. Mark was a master of all trades, a Renaissance man, one would say. He was a pilot of airplanes, power paragliders, and drones, a master plumber, a musician, and an artist, but most importantly our “Hoppy.” Mark was the happiest flying, spending time at the farm, and being with his granddaughters. Mark enjoyed his years playing guitar with the Dayton Mandolin Orchestra, Norman Conquest, and Giuseppe & Me.
Mark served his country in the United States Army. He was an E-5 Sergeant in the 101st Airborne “Air Assault,” “Screaming Eagles.” Mark was a graduate of air assault and recondo school and became a rappel master. He served as a gunner, fire direction computer, and forward observer.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Hoffman; children, Alicia Hoffman, Nick (Tricia) Hoffman; grandchildren, Chloe, Bella, Charley, Audrey, and Gabi; his mother, Marilyn Hoffman; sisters, Kim (John) Lawless and Renee (Tim) Waymeyer; mother-in-law, JoAnn Arlinghaus; brother-in-law, Paul (Pattie) Arlinghaus. Mark is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as other beloved relatives and friends. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Frank Hoffman, and father-in-law, Paul Arlinghaus.
