Mary Ann Menke

Mary Ann (Rice) Menke, 93, passed away peacefully, October 7, 2023, on the Feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. She died with family by her side and just six months after the death of her beloved husband, Richard. Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Clarence and Angela Rice and was preceded in death by her siblings: Donald Rice, Rita Mae Rice, John (Jack) Rice, Robert (Bob) Rice, Richard (Dick) Rice, and Chris Fedders; two children: Mary Elizabeth “Beth” (Redwine) and Richard Clarence “Dick;” and grandson Daniel Thomas Carey. Mary Ann is survived by five children: Patty (Roger Greer), Paul (Julie), Jeanne (Tim Carey), John (Barbara), Tom (Meg), her son-in-law Jim Redwine, daughter-in-law Karen Menke, 20 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren with three more on their way.

Mary Ann lived a long and memorable life enriched by her faith, family, and friends. Mary Ann proudly graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1952 and was committed to serving others throughout her life by volunteering countless hours for St. Elizabeth Hospital (Toddler Inn, Second Time Around Thrift Shop, and Tennis Spectacular), Thomas More College (Bengal Roar), Villa Madonna Academy (VillaRama), and St. Elizabeth Hospice, where she provided hands-on care for many years.

On Saturday, October 14, 2023 beginning at 11am, visitation will be in the church with the Funeral Mass at 12 noon at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2409 Dixie Highway, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017. The burial will take place immediately following at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 2201 Dixie Highway, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017. Please join Mary Ann’s family and friends for a reception from 1-3pm back at Blessed Sacrament in the church undercroft.
