Ruth Cecilia Otto, age 102, of Villa Hills and formerly Fort Thomas, KY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. She is survived by her loving children, Sue Otto Bourke, Charlotte Otto Tafaro (John), Beth Otto Bamber (Jeff), Bill Otto (Polly), Tom Otto (Alex) and Gerry Otto, Sr. (Bridget); grandchildren, Bobby Caples, Rachael Bourke, Caroline Renneker, Claire Panzeca, Leigh Joyce, Will Otto, Chappell Barnes, Gerry Otto, Jr. and Mary Katherine Otto; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Grant, Francesca, Ruby, Bentley, Beckett and Shiara. Ruth was preceded in passing by her loving husband, William Otto; daughter, Jaye Marie Otto; siblings,Margaret Fite, Bob Geisen and Mary Lou Kane.
Ruth went to art college and became a fashion artist, drawing the fashion ads for the newspaper. Later she worked in advertising and in sales at Saks Fifth Avenue. She gave countless hours volunteering at various nonprofits; she became one of the most requested volunteers to style clients at Dress for Success, led tours as a docent with the Behringer-Crawford Museum in Devou Park and volunteered with the RCIA program at Blessed Sacrament church. Ruth also loved to travel all over the world. She will be remembered most of all for her devotion to her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Church from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 10:00 AM. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow Mass in the church undercroft, burial will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery at 1:30 PM. Memorial contributions are suggested to Blessed Sacrament Church RCIA Program 2509 Dixie Hwy., Fort Mitchell, KY 41017.
