William "Bill" Fields Blasingame

William “Bill” Blasingame, age 88 (Blazer) of Covington, KY passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024. He was born on October 30, 1935, to the late William Clarence Blasingame and Alice Field Blasingame whom preceded him in death.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sharon Blasingame (nee Tranter); children, Debbie Ennis (Rodney), Denise Bower (James), William Blasingame (Kim), Deron Blasingame (Valerie), Scott Blasingame (Beth), Sherry Smith, Kathy Zwick and William Robinson; brother, Robert Blasingame (Judy); 25 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild. 

Bill was retired from Lingo Manufacturing after many years where he was lead of the Paint Services Division.

Starting in 1971 and lasting 53 years until 2024, Bill was a Volunteer, Assistant or Head Coach in youth, middle and high school sports throughout Northern Kentucky. Northern Kentucky Youth and High School sports was his absolute love and passion in life. Some of his youth teams included Bengal Tigers, Cottage AC, Covington Turners and other numerous basketball youth teams. His Middle/High School teams included: Highlands, Covington Catholic, and Boone County. Bill was a part of multiple Regional and State Championships during his time as either Head Coach or Assistant at the Middle/High School level.

Bill was inducted into the NKYFL Hall of Fame and the Northern Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame. He was truly an ambassador for all Northern Kentucky Sports. 

“Blazer” inspired countless men and women through his devotion of coaching and mentoring. He will be greatly missed by his family and all his friends through the years.
